Posted at 9:28 pm under Uncategorized

Today EA’s stock is down almost a dollar.

I hope that the information about Spore I am making available helped in some small way.

I think it’s funny you think you might be a factor in EA’s stock prices. More than likely it is because of the DRM included in Spore and some of their other PC games.

  2. LOLon 10 Sep 2008 at 2:27 am 2

    It didn’t 😉

  3. Godon 10 Sep 2008 at 2:29 am 3

Actually that’s because of the Harry Potter game delay announcement and has nothing to do with you foolishness here. They’re not atacking christianity anymore than you are denting their stock price. Quite trying to get attention. Weren’t you loved as a child?

  4. gamer9on 10 Sep 2008 at 2:36 am 4

I agree with your stance on Spore. There are several gaming websites making fun of antispore.com, it just goes to show that most young people are on a path away from God. Evolution and atheism is the “in” thing now, EA is just capitalizing on the trend. As long as you don’t stray from your own path, you have nothing to worry about. There are plenty of people who know the truth.

  5. Guyon 10 Sep 2008 at 2:43 am 5

Your site probably hasn’t even been seen by enough people to even affect that.

  6. Friendon 10 Sep 2008 at 2:46 am 6

EA’s stock is down because they delayed the Harry Potter game. Don’t tell me you think Harry Potter is anti-christian too.

  7. Personon 10 Sep 2008 at 2:47 am 7

    Yeah…probably not…

  8. Frankon 10 Sep 2008 at 2:56 am 8

Actually it’s probably down because of the DRM that EA decided to include on the Spore release. Not your ‘grasping for straws’ attempt at hating pretty much everything. Please continue to look too deep into things that don’t affect you directly.

Alternative Reply: If you don’t like it, don’t buy it.

  9. Xbudzon 10 Sep 2008 at 2:57 am 9

    Thats very unchristian of you.

    You’re fucking retarded.

  13. ROFLon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:10 am 13

    religion & blind faith

“This sort of behavior is left to the psychotic, dogmatic, fundamentalist believers you see on T.V. everyday letting off bombs and killing people in the name of God. Beliefs are dangerous. Beliefs allow the mind to stop functioning. A non-functioning mind is clinically dead. Believe in nothing.” -MJK

as for spore…..there is no way your going to succeed in bringing this amazing game off the shelves. Making games is an art form now tell me you want to change the constitution in order to make everyone else follow your beliefs….good luck in other countries, we don’t need you here.

  14. anonymouson 10 Sep 2008 at 3:15 am 14

    You didn’t do shit 🙂

  15. jimcricketon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:16 am 15

That’s laughable, keep dreaming that you actually had something to do with this.

  16. incognitoon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:17 am 16

Leviticus 19:18 (“Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.”)

Some Christian you are, wishing others harm.

I’d say people like you, who go to great lengths trying to make other people’s life worse bring this world a lot closer to the devil, than people who let you see how hard is g-d’s job. Instead of pointing out that, which you see as a flaw, you spew hatred towards hard working people who have never intended to cause any harm to you. I hope you understand the wrongs of your current path and step back onto the path of the LORD.

  17. Truthon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:18 am 17

You idiots, EA’s stock is down because of the DRM controversy in Spore.

  18. Mascoton 10 Sep 2008 at 3:23 am 18

Don’t get your hopes up. It is because of Securom. Now find a needle to deflate your head.

  19. lolwuton 10 Sep 2008 at 3:23 am 19

Hate to break it to you, but it’s not because of anything you did. It’s likely because of the SecuRom device included in the Spore installation, which acts very similarly to malware, as well as interrupting the normal flow of the game and limiting the number of times it can be installed.

  20. Iconicon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:23 am 20

Yea, I’m sure your information “helped” in some way.

So, if the stock goes up, what does that say about your information?

  21. laurenceon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:26 am 21

the stock is down because of a delay in shipping the new harry potter game – the delay is due to the movie being pushed back. Actually Spore is going to help push the stock price up since its a great game and a wonderful new franchise for EA

  22. Sundermaniaon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:27 am 22

Yeah, I’m going to go ahead and say no it didn’t.

  23. Grammeron 10 Sep 2008 at 3:33 am 23

It hasn’t. I’m going to buy Spore tomorrow. Why? Because fuck you, that’s why.

  24. lumpion 10 Sep 2008 at 3:35 am 24

    Hi.

I’m pretty much on the other side of the debate, should this be a real, non-satirical website, regarding evolution.

But we have something in common. I boycott Spore, too. For a totally different reason evo- errrr- involving EA’s draconian copy-protection which installs a piece of software that would be considered a virus by most definitions. Because of it, ratings on Amazon have dropped to 1 star (!).

    http://www.amazon.com/Spore-Mac/dp/B000FKBCX4/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1220815581&sr=8-1

I guess/hope that might have hurt them as well. Feel free to tell your Christian friends about this detail.

Stocks go up, stocks go down.

Did you even look at what the quotes before, in the middle of July it went down, was it because of you? No.

Also, play Spore, it’s a fun game.

  30. Waitamoon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:50 am 30

What information are you making available? All you have done so far is post some of the naughtier creations a minority have made, and yes that was obviously responsible for the drop in value of an international company. I feel like going out and buying spore rather than pirating it just to spite you.

  31. claudioon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:52 am 31

Keep on dreaming, dude, keep on dreaming

  32. Frederikon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:57 am 32

I feel sorry for your narrow minded view of this game, there is three reasons why this game is NOT inapropriate for children:

1 – Have you seen the graphics? IT’S A CARTOON! if anything you see in this game makes you think: “HOW RUDE!” You need to seriously get some glasses or something…

2 – They player is only an “demon-like intelligent space creature that violently takes over the galaxy” If he chooses to be! You can easily play this game, from start to end, without killing a single being! Infact, Will Wright has tried very hard to make it harder to play this game violently!

3 – If you think this game is undermining the christian culture or something, you need to first wake up and realise that we are not living in 1500 AD. Then you need to ask yourself: “Is Christianity the only way to go? Or are people allowed to have their own believes?” If you answered yes, good job, now close this website before you embarise yourself even more. If you answered no, get your brain checked, because it seems like you might be suffering from some mental illness, do you cure diseases with holy water and garliq also?

I hope you at least try to listen to my words before you go all crazy and sue me for not being the pope… i’m not an ateist, i think maybe some greater force has started all this, because a universe like this just doesn’t come out of nothing. But to say this game is an attack on “Christian values”, that’s just plain insane…

    -Frederik

  33. LOLZon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:57 am 33

Actually the reason for that drop in stock can be accredited to EA not producing enough NCAA 2009 football copies. I have had to turn at least 15 customers away today telling them where are out of stock.

Sorry to burst your bubble =)

  34. AmusedPaganon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:58 am 34

Look, anyone who has issues with this game has no inner child, and I pity them. EA is not “attacking” Christians or your values. It’s merely a video game. Everyone has the right to entertain themselves, and if I want to buy an “inappropriate” game and play it, that’s my own damned business. And it isn’t your place to tell me or anyone else otherwise. Look, I’m sorry if your child may have made a creature in Spore look offensive in some way, but that is your problem, not anyone else’s. So, where do you come off telling people what is and is not right for them or their children? So why don’t you get down off your high-horse and stop telling people what they should believe. If I think my child could play this game with no issues, than I am going to allow my children to play it. And you aren’t going to tell me otherwise. And I’ll be damned if you tell me I’d be a bad parent for doing so. As for the whole “creation v.s. evolution” issue, isn’t it getting old? I certainly don’t care, and I’m more than certain that I’m not the only person who is sleeping well at night not caring about the issue. It doesn’t matter whether or not our universe was created or it evolved. We weren’t there to witness it, so why don’t we just leave it alone? I think we all would be better off without the never-ending debates about everyone’s theories behind the questions that we don’t know the answers to. Believe what you will, but don’t push your beliefs onto others who don’t wanna hear about it. So, why don’t you chill out and lighten up so you can enjoy the things that are meant to be fun. Have you played Spore? I wouldn’t be so quick to judge the game until you’ve played it.

  35. Orson Beanon 10 Sep 2008 at 4:03 am 35

It’s naive to think that a dip of less than a dollar in such a strong stock is anything even remotely newsworthy, and even more naive to think that you had anything to do with it.

  36. Hey adminon 10 Sep 2008 at 4:03 am 36

You did not effect it at all. Sorry.. But EA is one of the larger publishing firms out there, and the fact their dropped one dollar today is kind of pointless in the long run. Check them out in two weeks and see where they sit after a few new releases are out. If spore failed and everyone decided not to buy it, it wouldn’t matter as its a drop in their proverbial bucket.

  38. Alex Sterlingon 10 Sep 2008 at 4:09 am 38

Your hits today are probably through the roof for a grassroots blogger such as yourself, however the thing is that this is a video game. Video games are sources of entertainment much like Baseball or Professional Wrestling or Hardcore Pornography. All are legitimate legal institutions and all were created by people you uphold were created by God.

  39. Axlon 10 Sep 2008 at 4:17 am 39

EA’s stock is down a whole dollar. Wow. Such a feat.

I imagine their stock is down because many of their games aren’t exactly of high quality. I don’t imagine a blog you started /yesterday/ had any bearing whatsoever on a loss of stock value for that corporation.

    Also Harry potter is delayed

Not you can either allow this post or not (prolly not).
It’s nicer to ignore conflicting evidence then it is to acknowledge it. (see fossles)

But if you don’t allow it to be publicly viewed then I’ll know (and you will know) that you were just scared of the challange to your views.

its not really that atheism is “in” but that people are finally thinking for them selves and not being reduced to sheep (ok not in the case of Apple users). Young people are finally being educated enough to wake up and notice that all the religious crap that is being shoved down their throats doesnt make sense.
how can a book written 2000years ago explain all of existence from “creation” to “afterlife”? people were still quite primitive, so how can we take what they wrote to be true? the only thing we do know that is true from the bible is that the there was a man named Jesus who was crucified, most likely on a tree. other than that nothing else from the bible can be confirmed.

i am truly happy to see people finally giving up on religion

    Really?
I’m a full on believer or Christ, I’m a born again believer, I do ministry full time, and you really are going over the top with this. Everything you say will just upset people even further. Not only that, but you are pushing people further away from Christ, you need to stop being a basher, come to people with love. Yes a lot of the content in spore is inappropriate, but that is user created content, not EA/publisher created. Also it is just a game, it does not say that evolution is the only way or bash Christ. So please stop ranting from emotions and take a 2nd look at this, you are drawing a lot of negative attention, and I was embrassed for you when I read how hateful you are. Be cool, gain some respect, so that in the future when you talk, your words carry creditability, especially when you talk about Christ, you don’t want to be written off as a psycho.

  51. Bumbleron 10 Sep 2008 at 4:44 am 51

EA’s stock is most likely down because they put a DRM on Spore.

A DRM is where they only allow so many installs on a single copy of the game in an attempt to combat piracy.

Many gamers dont want to buy spore because they feel the DRM is restricting their purchase and doesn’t effectively help the piracy problem.

  52. SevasTraon 10 Sep 2008 at 4:46 am 52

    @Friend

What you haven’t heard about how anti-Harry Potter christians are, it’s witchcraft which christians believe is the power of the Devil or something. Also with Dumbledoor now being gay they hate Harry Potter even more now.

Also creater of this blog, don’t be so naive there is no way that you influenced EA stock to go down, I have seen some people comment that they are going to go by the game after seeing this site.

  53. TheMagnificen7on 10 Sep 2008 at 4:48 am 53

And guess who gets to take over the world, gamer9? The young people. If trends continue, God won’t exist somewhere down the road (not that he/she does already). Won’t even be a discussion. Sounds like Evolution of a species to me, and I wish I could be around to see it (I won’t). And for the record, in any logical means, these people have no way of concretely “knowing the truth.” When they die, they’ll find out. But most likely not.

  54. Personon 10 Sep 2008 at 4:57 am 54

God doesn’t exist. I want to see pictures of your so called god with the time stamps on them.

  55. Godless Heathenon 10 Sep 2008 at 4:57 am 55

The problem with religious people is that you can’t think about anything but God or Jesus. Spore is a well-rounded game based on scientific principles and known facts. You cannot disprove millions of years of evidence. One of the few games that doesn’t involve toting a gun throughout and you still find reason to complain.

  56. Raian Cryoson 10 Sep 2008 at 4:58 am 56

I’m going to go on a give a response to this website’s tagline: Resisting EA’s War on Creationism. There is no war going on, and I’m pretty sure that EA doesn’t give a second thought about any form of religion with the money that they rake in annually. [sarcasm]Heck, next let’s sue Nintendo for proposing that fat Italian plumbers can defy physics by flying and having the ability to breath in space![/sarcasm] 😀

  57. Agnosticon 10 Sep 2008 at 5:28 am 57

You’re insane, you realize this? All you zealots are amazing at restricting your own thought processes to create your own little perfect world. Which actually sucks, and I would never want to live in it. There’s no real point talking to you guys I guess, your indoctrination in the principles of doublethink have progressed too far; but hey, it makes me feel a bit better.

Regardless of whether you believe in god or not, why don’t you at least question whether you WANT him to exist? Or why you should worship him? Even if he “Loves” you, your life belongs to you, and isn’t religion really just the greatest example of might makes right?

I myself am an Agnostic, I don’t understand how any sort of god could exist, but I recognize that people much greater than I did believe, and I’m not so arrogant as to value my ideas over theirs, nor do I accept theirs as mine. But personally, if it was just me, I’d rather god didn’t exist. I don’t need God.

While none of this ties in SPECIFICALLY with Spore; if you do listen it becomes rather obvious which lies are… well, obvious lies. Remember, your bible wasn’t written by God; it was written by men. Long after the fact too.

P.S.- On the off chance this is a cleverly designed scam trying to get those page views we angry gamers always generate when someone’s being a dick, please disregard this. And good work, there’s nothing wrong with a victimless crime or two.

  58. Sam McCarthyon 10 Sep 2008 at 5:29 am 58

  59. Josephon 10 Sep 2008 at 5:31 am 59

gamer 9, its not the “in” thing to be atheist. Its just that some of us prefer to stop and think before just accepting something on “faith”

  60. SD5150on 10 Sep 2008 at 5:32 am 60

Um, religion is not going anywhere. Why are people so scared to investigate and look for truth? Why settle for what you are told instead of what you can learn for yourself? The bible is a good reference, but thats about it. Trying to make something that has been translated by man as the word of God is just plain ignorant. Use the lessons to be a better person, and not to use them as a means for your own personal beliefs. Spore is a game created by man, man was created in gods image(right?), so then didn’t God have some help in creating Spore? So isn’t going against spore going against God then? Hah, I am so glad I am an open minded person who can see life for all its glory….I feel sorry for these people that use “religion” as there means to justify their own personal goals.
Ps. God doesn’t care about Spore, EA, and most likely not you(me).

  62. Nathanielon 10 Sep 2008 at 5:36 am 62

EA has a lot of intellectual property’s and with how many copy’s of Spore that have been sold don’t think this site or Spore it self has anything to do with it. Other than the fact that Spore sell might have brought up the NASDAQ for a couple of days. But I haven’t done my research to see if that’s is the case. But if there was anywhere to make baseless claims this would be it.

  63. Grand_Marquison 10 Sep 2008 at 5:36 am 63

  64. Claudeon 10 Sep 2008 at 5:37 am 64

Shouldn’t you be more worried about gays and foreigners desecrating your religion than a silly little video game?

  65. Burlsanon 10 Sep 2008 at 5:38 am 65

Yeah, EA developed a game that allows you to create and evolve creatures because they hate God and want to capitalize on a trend. I doubt anyone who even knows how to turn a PC on saw this website and went ” I would hate to play something that is such an obvious affront to God!”, thus hurting EA. You must be accessing this website off of a Macintosh. Oh yeah, Google Advertising is running Spore ads on this website, so I’m sure you are helping on some level. Jackasses.

  66. jasonon 10 Sep 2008 at 5:42 am 66

yeah your websites helping sell it, everyone click the link over to the right easy accsess to buy spore

  67. Zon 10 Sep 2008 at 5:44 am 67

Hah, this is, quite simply to say the least, sad that you would take a video game as a “War” against creation, and the Christian religion. Just because I decided to play a game that involves evolution doesn’t mean that I will turn around after I’m done and abandon my beliefs. It seems quite unchristian of you to say that anything that says different from your religion is automatically wrong and should not exist. I suppose by your logic, you could just turn around and make a site about how Muslims aren’t right because they don’t learn about the christian religion, am I right? And so what if people want to create gigantic flying Penis creatures, your child, or you never have to see that because you DON’T have to download that creature. People like you seem to be the people who sit at home all day and take things to an extreme as soon as they view it, and then they go right to the internet to complain about it. You’re whole site is a sad, and I almost pity you for taking the time to create this.

  69. w1130on 10 Sep 2008 at 5:49 am 69

When I went to my first 4th year immunolgy lecture the prof put it quite bluntly:

“I don’t care what you believe in or what you don’t. I don’t care if you think the earth is 6000 years old or even something as wacky as the idea that pigs can fly. Evolution isn’t a belief; it’s common sense and that’s how it’s going to be treated.”

In other words: to the fuck face who made this site, if you don’t believe in evolution (which is supported by evidence that is so large compared to the evidence for creationism that it’s undefined), you sir are a complete and total fucking idiot.

  70. Spiderbaiton 10 Sep 2008 at 6:11 am 70

Friend: He probably does think Harry Potter is anti-christian too. Saw somewhere on the web that devout Christians are protesting against HP because it’s about magic and has some other things that are against Christianity (Don’t know what excactly, long time since I read the article and even though I fell into the trap of reading the Golden Compass because I heard it was blasphemous and was described as an atheists Narnia I avoided it with the HP books).

  71. ChickenBaconon 10 Sep 2008 at 6:15 am 71

If you really believed in your heart that creationism was true, you wouldn’t feel threatened by this silly video game.
I believe in God and evolution. Yes, you can do it. Scientific discoveries are a miracle from God. Do you take penicillin if you get an infection? I bet you do. You also use a computer, and probably live in a house, full of modern conveniences.
But this one area of science, you vehemently reject, and devote way too much time in trying to discredit. If you really believed that evolution is a myth, you’d reject it, and be done with it, and go on living your life. The amount of effort you go to with this site, proves how unsure you really are.

  72. MoneyManon 10 Sep 2008 at 6:33 am 72

Sorry. YOU had nothing to do with the slump in the Price of EA.

    the contributing factors were

1: Spore does have issues but that due to a backlash against EA’s draconian DRM system.
2: EA announced recently that they are pushing the publication of the new Harry Potter game back (delaying it). Delaying or canceling a major title is a Guaranteed way to get your stock price to drop.
3: The current Investment Bank Slump has had a strong negative effect on the share market reducing Nasdaq, Dow and S&P 500 by around 3% each.

all these are the cause of the 1$+ drop in EA’s share price not your dribble attacking what is in effect a ‘god’ game.

As has been mentioned, you are attacking this game for being pro-evolution when it is clear that an inteligent entity (the player, as a god proxy) is the guiding force behind the creation of these entities…

But I am sure you are aware of this. I am reasonably sure that I can call Poe’s Law on this website. I salute you on your comedy and find it even funnier that google is supplying your site mainly with ads for Spore and Games Industry Jobs 🙂 (but then that could have been the point)

  78. Stat14on 10 Sep 2008 at 8:14 am 78

Consumer spending is down, the US economy is going down…
EA happens to be US based with a majority of it’s customers in the US.
US economy going down = less money for their major buyer, aka less purchases -> less profits -> degraded stock value.

I’d like you to take a moment and think about which religion is to blame for the US economy going down. Hint: It’s the largest religion in the US.

  79. Stat14on 10 Sep 2008 at 8:16 am 79

So yes, you have done a small part in lowering EA’s stock 🙂
Simply by being a conservative, religious republican, you have helped lower EA’s stock value… and every other company. Also you’ve helped reduce surplus money and (in effect) decrease donations to your religious organization. Fun times 🙂

  80. Val Harbunouon 10 Sep 2008 at 9:44 am 80

    Your Ignorance is rather amusing.

You honestly think this website did anything to drop EA’s stock? EA’s stock didn’t drop because “a servant of god” decided to bad mouth a game that has more hype than religion itself, but because a stupid decision made by EA Itself about DRM (Digital Rights Management for you uneducated morons who reside on this site).

Go Google it… You have done nothing, and your progress can be compared to trying to turn the world’s water supply into Kool-Aid by dropping a bag of that stuff in the Ocean.

Summary: Your ignorance fuels your own narcissism.

The stock market fluctuates in this way thousands of times every single day. Attributing a minor decrease such as this to your efforts indicates to me that you are feeling threatened by the lack of support shown by posters on this website, and are therefore attempting to find any form of ‘evidence’ to indicate to yourself that you are not alone in this argument. Don’t worry, this is a perfectly natural human response – a result of evolution, favouring individuals who seek out similar people to themselves in order to be more protected – safety in numbers.

A long term trend, I predict, will show EA’s stocks rising, especially after the launch of such a successful and well reviewed game.

  84. Not amusedon 10 Sep 2008 at 1:42 pm 84

Praise Jesus! The sinners are quaking in their boots as their stock is plummeting into the ground because you had the courage to step up and face adversity. I’d bet those heathens over at EA are ready to repent and throw themselves at your mercy, begging you to forgive them and show them the error of their ways.

Wow… Seriously, how old are you? Are you that full of yourself and that sheltered? How can you even go this far without approaching this rationally while completely ignoring and knowingly misrepresenting the other side of the argument? Come back only when you are ready to have an unbiased discussion, otherwise you are just going to bring unwanted attention and ridicule upon yourself, your cause, and your message. Its amazingly embarrassing- best of luck with this once you wake up and join the rest of us in the real world.

  86. Matthew Lynchon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:21 pm 86

Frankly this website make me sick. I hold hope that it is hoax design to derive humor (though I don’t find it humorous) from the stereotypical religious bigot protagonist.

I believe in peoples right to practice religion, but I believe people like the (hopefully fake) protagonist of this site are dangerous individuals who are doing harm to our children and our society as a whole.

Evolution is scientific fact, it is not a theory. It has been proven, it has been observed. To deny evolution is to deny reality. Seeding doubt in to the minds of our children over the scientific method is a disgusting act that could lead to slowed progress in the fields of medicine at best, and complete chaos at worst.

Perhaps the thing that strikes me most is the arrogance of people who attack evolution in the name of the Catholic Church, or Christianity in general. Most churches of Christ accept evolution. Evolution is no incompatible with God or Christ. The Pope says, and I quote, “This clash [between anti-evolution theories and evolution] is an absurdity because on one hand there is much scientific proof in favour of evolution, which appears as a reality that we must see and which enriches our understanding of life and being as such.”

If “admin” is a real person, not acting as a character, I suggest he reassess where he is in life, and think about the harm he is promoting. Next time he reaches for an aspirin, or logs on to this site using a computer, he should think about how real science is.

Evolution is not a theory. It is fact. It has been proven. It has been observed.

  87. Wowon 10 Sep 2008 at 5:41 am 87

The stock is down due to the reaction of the DRM security in Spore. It has nothing to do with your mini-campaign( which btw I find hilarious, I never even considered a connection ). 90% of the traffic this site is getting is a simple “Wow, have you seen this idiots site? “. Even Christians, the majority, think you’re being retarded.

What I find most odd actually is that games in general deal with fiction. Instead of considering this game in the same light you’ve jumped on your moronic horse.

Or it could be that the new Harry Potter game has been delayed until next year – which has affected EA’s financial expectations. Hang on, isn’t Potter anti-god too?

No, you are right. You ARE changing things.

If you are really upset by Spore you should see what the Left Behind series of PC games suggests to kids. We’ll be setting up cafes and shopping precincts during the final battle with satan will we? After society has fallen apart because all the good people have left?

    Re: Godless Heathen –
    >>The problem with religious people is that you can’t think about anything but God or Jesus.

I would say that the problem with religious people is that they can’t think critically about their own religion/beliefs. If someone is convinced of something by an argument from authority and never critically examines the authority itself, that’s not faith, it is just blind submission….

…and honestly, if God wanted blind submissive minions, He would have just created robots, not humans with the ability to critically examine ideas.

Besides, if it wasn’t for critically examining things, how would anyone know that Christianity was ‘right’ to begin with? It is not much solace to think that one is saved because they won the ‘religion lottery’ when they were born, by being born into a family with the ‘right’ religion, or whatever, unless you go in for the whole predestination thing… which opens up a whole other bag of worms…

Trust me it didn’t Your view on Spore is a little too literal. Your just trying to be one o f those “holier than thou” Christians whom I distest oh so much and although I’m Christian myself you in fact offend me. If you knew anything you would realize that EA filters much of that content and the player can BAN that content from the game >_> I know I’ve done it before. The banned content is then reported to EA. EA does not distribute these creatures people with dirty minds do. The audacity of people like you astounds me. Although I will have to say that some younger children may need to be spoken to if they can not discern between reality and fiction. Also Will Wright has a very quirky since of humor as demonstrated by his God comparing thing. If you actually played or knew anyone who played another of his titles (Sim City or The Sims) you might know this but no you draw on assumption. Your pitiful seriously you are.

  116. The Ratchmanon 02 Oct 2008 at 9:57 am 116

I would have to question why you have called for this to be boycott on the basis it is anti-creationist. If you are struggling to get your beliefs accepted by the mainstream, wouldn’t you be happy for people to be open-minded enough to consider what you have to say. In which case, by calling for a school of thought that you disagree with to be censored, you are promoting closed-mindedness.

The door swings both ways. If you want to be treated with open-mindedness, you have to show some yourself.

Evolution is an accepted fact, which has been observed and proven (and therefore doesn’t qualify as a belief). Don’t quote ‘intelligent design’ either, for ‘convergent evolution’ fits the context better and doesn’t require blind faith in unprovable deities.

Even if evolution was a debatable issue, this is still a game and based in a fictional universe, and thus shouldn’t be taken so seriously. I don’t recall Doom being presented as a documentary.

If you choose to believe in creationism, then fair enough, it’s your decision. Believe what you like, just don’t force it upon others.

The god is a lie. There is no “truth” only what YOU believe in, and guess what? You have no proof to back up those beliefs.
