It takes a village to raise a child

Posted at 8:40 am under Uncategorized

And 8,500 employees at Electronic Arts to corrupt a child’s mind.

8,500 people all working together and not a single one with enough Jesus to stand up and say what they are doing is wrong.

It makes me sick.

I was just wondering if you know that the creatures in the game can practice religion?

  4. Andrewon 10 Sep 2008 at 2:57 am 4

Shut the fuck up, all they did was make a video game. Evolution is real. God is not. It’s the 21st century, please educate yourself.

You make me sick. You cant blame a game for what its players chose to do with it. Its like hitting a child for swearing when they havent the slightist idea what it means. The people at EA worked hard to make a brilliant game that should be enjoyed, and what to they get instead people like you telling them that they’re corrupting a childs mind. The game isnt ment to be taken this seriously, its not about religon and you shouldnt be chastizing it for being the way it is. It has a 10+ rating and thats what it deserves. So if you dont like dont play it and dont stary hate sites.
ps- This game has NOTHING to do with jesus!

  6. Anonon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:02 am 6

Hitler saved Germany from a depression and he was killed and only killed a few million people. Jesus saved some Jews and killed and have killed more than a billion people. Who is your savior? How does Jesus have anything todo with Spore, he doesnt. How do we know Jesus wasnt a fan of Evolution we dont and we should assume that he dissagrees with it.

  7. WGSXFrankon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:05 am 7

How exactly is anything they did, involving this game, wrong?

I await an answer because I’d love to debate on this.

    ITS A FUCKING GAME!!

  9. Andrewon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:09 am 9

i dont have much to say about this. but EA did not develop spore. Maxis did. get your facts straight. EA only published spore.

nobody will take you seriously if you sound like a biased uninformed idiot, which you do.

  10. laurent michelon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:10 am 10

actually it takes one mind to corrupt a little one. it could be yours.

and I, being a christian, an ashamed at how you use the phrase “enough Jesus in them”. It disrespects his name to use it as slang such like that.

these employees too, must have no idea how corruptive it is to create a fiction game, a pure work of fiction, about a topic that you consider fiction. I mean, why not be mad instead at a book on Santa Claus, made for children? He too corrupts the purity of Christ with his pagan and magical influence on the celebration of the day of our lord.

I will consider you closeminded, and leave it at that. I hope those who you influence will not also become as you, standing at the banner of a worthless cause, standing for your lord and saviour and disrespecting him in your choice of words.

  11. ROFLon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:12 am 11

    religion & blind faith

“This sort of behavior is left to the psychotic, dogmatic, fundamentalist believers you see on T.V. everyday letting off bombs and killing people in the name of God. Beliefs are dangerous. Beliefs allow the mind to stop functioning. A non-functioning mind is clinically dead. Believe in nothing.” -MJK

as for spore…..there is no way your going to succeed in bringing this amazing game off the shelves. Making games is an art form now tell me you want to change the constitution in order to make everyone else follow your beliefs….good luck in other countries, we don’t need you here.

  12. Lolon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:13 am 12

Yes it’s all a conspiracy, everyone in the known universe, scientists and game creators alike are conspiring to enforce a ridiculous belief such as evolution instead of doing what mankind has always done, see what they can do, be it get a bunch of stupid people to believe a fictional book is real and start religions and wars out of it or make a video game.

  13. lolwuton 10 Sep 2008 at 3:13 am 13

It’s not that they aren’t brave enough to stand up and oppose Spore. It’s that any reasonable person can see there is no reason to oppose it.

  14. Ledniron 10 Sep 2008 at 3:28 am 14

EA has repeatedly said that they do not claim this to be the actual route of the creation of organisms. On some websites atheists are raging about the route of evolution not being the true route in the Darwinian hypothesis. EA responds with this: “It’s just a game.”

  15. That Guyon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:31 am 15

No I think none of the 8,500 employees at Electronic Arts had half a brain like you do. I’m all for standing up for what you believe in. It’s you kind of people that gives christians a bad name. Its YOU kind of people that made me look into different religions. Although I still am a Christian it makes me happy when you guys just ruin everything the religion is about. Your supposed to be open about different ideas and accept things. While I can’t and won’t quote the bible you know what I mean.

Go ahead be against evolution although it has been basically proven. Thats ok. But when you say this kind of game will warp a child thats just BS.

Now when I bought the game for my little brother for his birthday he was super happy (him being 8 and me being 18;I know far apart) I knew about the game and that he wanted it and it looked good. I watched him make his character. Now while he could have made one of these creatures you linked he make a little beast with 3 legs and 4 arms. A horn on his head to make him look cool. And he named him Larry. He played it for a while. Me not watching the whole time. He loved it. He didnt come out speaking in tongue or hitting people. Just a smile on his face.

Even if a kid believes in Evolution doesent make him any less then a christian than anyone else.

We could argue about that all day but the fact that your putting your anger out at a simple video game is appalling. so I guess anygame that isnt up to your standards is horrible and mind warping for children? Give me a break.

I didnt mean to be rude but your just lower than low.

  16. Killian Kalthorneon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:37 am 16

It does not take a village to raise a child. It takes a parent who actually takes the time to raise the kid. Its not the responsibility of game developers or publishers to raise a kid. Its not the responsibility of the church or government to raise a kid. its not the responsibility of the school to raise the kid. Only person who is responsible to raise a child is the parent. NO ONE ELSE!

This is the US of A. Not some cradle to the grave nanny state.

Could it not be that the 8,500 people are, in fact, right and you are the one who trying to corrupt people’s minds?

    It makes me sick.

  19. Mikeon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:45 am 19

You know what makes me sick?? The fact that you believe in god. This game teaches people about how the world got started. It does not brainwash them into believing something completely absurd, such as, hmmm religion??? This website is a joke. I have a great idea for you. Since you are pro jesus, instead of attacking a GAME, why don’t you go save a baby seal or something. Feed some poor homeless guy. Something that matters. Nothing you say or do will ever shut down spore, so just give up now.

  20. Minnaowon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:48 am 20

    Mindcrime is not a crime
    This is a game
I’m glad you are actively engaged in what your child consumes and do not want him to play this game, but that doesn’t make it all that much immoral. Please learn the difference between what is acceptable for your family and what mature society would like to entertain itself with.

  21. antiantisporeon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:53 am 21

dont think its up to the company to decide that this particular child should be playing spore or not that’s more the parents job if they paying more attention to what their children were playing instead of bashing some games on the internet they could do it more effectively

  22. ATHEYEon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:54 am 22

Funny, I always thought that bible thumpers ruin children because they take away what they say God gave everyone: Free will. The ability to choose our own path should be our own, and shouldn’t be forced upon us by anyone.

You don’t like a game, don’t buy it. I don’t buy “Veggie Tales” merch because I want my children to choose for themselves what they want to believe.

  23. Axlon 10 Sep 2008 at 3:57 am 23

This deserved an entire blog post? Really?

I think you may be misunderstanding the purpose of a blog. You’re supposed to make statements on the things you find, the things you hear, the things you’re interested in, comment on it, spark discussion.

This entire post basically says that you’re religious, and that everyone who made a video game is far from it.

Oh, also, they might not follow your religion, so who’s to say they would have any amount of that belief in them? Besides, what they’re doing is not wrong. It’s the users of the game creating the content you despise so. Why not aim your website at raising awareness towards the already-corrupted minds of the select few playing the game? I think that would be much more effective than attacking a large corporation like EA.

  24. AmusedPaganon 10 Sep 2008 at 4:00 am 24

Look, anyone who has issues with this game has no inner child, and I pity them. EA is not “attacking” Christians or your values. It’s merely a video game. Everyone has the right to entertain themselves, and if I want to buy an “inappropriate” game and play it, that’s my own damned business. And it isn’t your place to tell me or anyone else otherwise. Look, I’m sorry if your child may have made a creature in Spore look offensive in some way, but that is your problem, not anyone else’s. So, where do you come off telling people what is and is not right for them or their children? So why don’t you get down off your high-horse and stop telling people what they should believe. If I think my child could play this game with no issues, than I am going to allow my children to play it. And you aren’t going to tell me otherwise. And I’ll be damned if you tell me I’d be a bad parent for doing so. As for the whole “creation v.s. evolution” issue, isn’t it getting old? I certainly don’t care, and I’m more than certain that I’m not the only person who is sleeping well at night not caring about the issue. It doesn’t matter whether or not our universe was created or it evolved. We weren’t there to witness it, so why don’t we just leave it alone? I think we all would be better off without the never-ending debates about everyone’s theories behind the questions that we don’t know the answers to. Believe what you will, but don’t push your beliefs onto others who don’t wanna hear about it. So, why don’t you chill out and lighten up so you can enjoy the things that are meant to be fun. Have you played Spore? I wouldn’t be so quick to judge the game until you’ve played it.

  25. Wow...on 10 Sep 2008 at 4:05 am 25

Jesus is an item now? Where can I purchase this ‘Jesus’ you speak of and how much does it cost, hopefully not a soul cause I traded that to the devil for some hot Asian pron.

  26. Richardon 10 Sep 2008 at 4:10 am 26

    What a silly website.

Firstly, evolution is a fact. The only “debate” is amongst people that have ZERO knowledge about biology. Do yourself a favor and take a remedial course in it, you will learn a lot.

Second, religion is what is destroying society these days. Religious fundamentalists, and I put them all in one group because evangelicals are really no different than muslims, are the single largest force that stands in the way of progress in this world.

They feel threatened (as they should) that the light of science is taking away all of the shadows that their small and pathetic god fairy tales can hide in. So they oppose social progress, they oppose scientific progress, they oppose any progress or change that they see as contrary to some fabricated fictional book that has been hacked and re-edited over thousands of years.

Get a life. God is an irrellivant fairy tale.

  27. Davidon 10 Sep 2008 at 4:14 am 27

They’re probably not thinking too hard on this, and I think that they don’t think this will corrupt anyone.

A friend of mine from high school is a devout Catholic. He was in every bible study, he read everything on the bible from C.S. Lewis to historical encyclopedias, and he was in every religious debate on the side of Christianity.

Yet, he loved the Harry Potter books, the Final Fantasy game series, and Futurama, three things that have come under fire for “Corrupting children.” He was just fine even though he enjoyed such games, and he’ll likely be a pastor one day. His faith is beautiful.

I myself grew up in the 80’s and 90’s. I’ve seen this happen many times, the latest game or phenomenon called the tool to corrupt children. Dungeons and Dragons, Pokemon, Magic: The Gathering, Harry Potter, so many others, and now Spore.

I’ve played all of those games. D&D takes place in a fictional realm without OUR God, and as a work of absolute fiction it doesn’t matter if Christ never existed there. Pokemon is completely and utterly innocent in the way it handles things, and completely stresses caring for and treating others as equals. Magic I didn’t play too much, but it was pretty much the same as D&D, completely fictional and made no attempt to claim it wasn’t. Harry Potter, same deal. It’s fictional. It’s not teaching that magic is real, it’s just a story about a fictional world where magic does exist.

This can and should be viewed in the same manner. If the concept of evolution, even with the intelligent designer of the player controlling it all, bothers you, then accept it as what it is, a work of fiction.

  28. bladrunneron 10 Sep 2008 at 4:25 am 28

Maybe not a single one of those 8500 thought what they were doing is wrong? Probably because they were not.
I have a sneaking suspicion that this is a joke website, because I refuse to believe that there are really stupid enough people in the world to think this about a game.

  30. Bleachpieon 10 Sep 2008 at 4:29 am 30

It would be great if you were actually informed about anything but your so called religious beliefs.

Have you actually read the bible, both new and old testaments. How can you condone a God who would cause Harm to the firstborns and such.

  31. Stallon 10 Sep 2008 at 4:32 am 31

I am certain some of the developers of Spore were devout Christan.
You are so narrow minded it makes me sick. Just because someone believes in something different than you, you have to claim they are wrong, and heavily bash a creation that you cannot begin to fathom the amount of work put into it.

Didn’t the Bible like preach about accepting all of God’s children? No matter what they believed in? Didn’t it talk about how you should no be rude to someone just because of their beliefs?

Your whole blog is so Unchristian. Be open minded, and accept the fact that people have different beliefs. My mother is one of the most Christan-minded people I know, but she believes Evolution exists.

Accept the fact that everyone is one of God’s child, and embrace their ideas.

  32. Chrison 10 Sep 2008 at 4:39 am 32

actually, all it takes to corrupt a child’s mind is google. I would even consider this website to be capable of “corrupting a child’s mind” with hyper christian idiocy.

    Makes you sick eh?

Europeans would come over to the Americas to spread christian faith to the Indians so that they would be saved.

Most of the time, they were beaten and tortured, so that they may be saved.

Most were also drowned to death after finally accepting the religion so that they wouldn’t have time to change their minds. After all, god never intended for us to have freewill.

  36. Angry Sataniston 10 Sep 2008 at 4:53 am 36

  37. Orson Beanon 10 Sep 2008 at 4:55 am 37

And it takes five Polish people to screw in a light bulb. What’s your point?
Also, to think that Jesus is some sort of thing that you can quantify and that people have certain amounts of in them is insulting. First of all, what’s in us is the Holy Spirit, not Jesus. Secondly, using “Jesus” as a replacement for “balls” is just outright inappropriate.

  38. Kyleon 10 Sep 2008 at 4:56 am 38

So you are angry at 8500 people for releasing a game that allows the end user to express themselves however they want?

Essentially what you wanted someone to do is stand up and say: “Hey lets not release this game because a “few” people are going to create naughty things that might offend others” ?

The Game doesn’t reward you in anyway for being perverse or cruel.

People are going to be people, and lets face it some people out there are just sick in the head and they will find some way to turn something innocent into something perverse.

Bottom line is this with your logic why are you not ranting and raving about inventor of the Camcorder?

People have been using the Camcorder to record and create Porn from the very beginning

Do you blame the inventor of the camcorder or the person using it?

Spore simply a tool that allows a person to use there own creativity

Grow up, please check your references and please read the Bible more thoroughly and take time to understand it. You make it seem like EA is out to get Christians, as if they are all saying, ” Hahaha, let’s make a game to upset those Christians and promote Demons!!” They only make video games for Entertainment, and all those pictures of the Nudity and such with the creation of monsters, those were made by young kids who think it’s funny to see that stuff placed on Youtube and to show their friends, if anything you should be against children s minds since all you want to do is complain about every “Bad” video game is out there.

You make me sick! People like you need to get a life and mind your own business. No one said you have to buy the game if you hate it so much. There are idiots in every field; just because a few people say that something as ridiculous as reading a book is evil does that mean an idiotic group has to ruin it everyone else? I find this parallel to this situation. Chosing what other people should and shouldn’t do is just arrogant and ignorant. Come on society this is ridiculous we need to have some level of being civilized. (Ironic that arrogant people like this actually turn out to be the pigs).

  48. Johnon 10 Sep 2008 at 5:45 am 48

You can’t blame EA for poor parenting. As a parent it is your responsibility to know what your children are playing with. If you can’t take 5 minutes out of your busy day to do a Google search for that new game you’re underage child that has no money is begging you to purchase for them then that makes you the irresponsible parent. It is not EA or any other video game companies job to play parent. That is the responsibility of the two people that made their naughty bits touch together.

Here is an easy solution. If this game offends you…. ready for it?…. *GASP* Don’t buy it! God nor EA is holding a gun to your head making you play Spore. While were on the subject. While we’re on the subject, if you’re so upset about this game why waste your time looking up YouTube videos of Spore creatures with penis’? I think this goes to show us more about you as a person and not EA disrespecting the big almighty.

Before I go, have you ever heard the saying “There is no such thing as bad publicity?” You creating this site is just making more and more people aware of Spore and now that you’ve littered your site with Spore Dongs you just made countless amounts of people want to go out and buy it so they can make their own Spore creatures with huge units. Way to go buddy, pat yourself on the back!

  49. alexon 10 Sep 2008 at 5:48 am 49

“8,500 people all working together and not a single one with enough Jesus to stand up and say what they are doing is wrong.”

There is something so wrong with hearing you say that someone has enough Jesus or too little. You make it sound like it’s a credit rating or some energy drink you buy at the store.
“Oh sorry but it seems you have a little bit too little Jesus. Try again later!”

  51. Brianon 10 Sep 2008 at 6:03 am 51

I work at EA, in Canada, and not on spore. I am also a Christian, and these are solely my opinions on the matter.

I do not find find the content supplied from EA to be any way offensive, I do find creatures created by people in the general public dis-tasteful, but that is all beyond EA’s Control. Spore is a game AND a tool, these penis and booby creatures you are posting are created outside of EA’s control. EA has no more control over people creating penis monsters using Spore than they do over people painting one with a brush and canvas or pencil and paper. EA has been warning people, and taking away privileges of people that abuse the game in this manner. However, with more than a million things being created a day now it is a daunting task to take all of them down, I am sure you will agree.

As far as the creation vs. evolution thing, what I would think will shock you more is that the game puts the player in the role of “god”, creating and “guiding” your creation. Neither of these things shock me however, and I am 100% sure they don’t bother Jesus either… go ahead and ask him since you know him so well. I personally believe in Biblical creation story, people my think it sounds silly and unbelievable… but it is no more silly or unbelievable that the billions of “Happy coincidences” that had to happen to make the big bang/evolutionary theory work. I wouldn’t condemn a game for having an evolutionary model as its game play mechanic anymore than I would condemn my daughter for make believing that her teddy bear is real, for me they are both play time.

Calling Will Wright evil is immature and not for you to decide. You have never met the man, and neither have I. Grow up.

The Fact is this is a game, and like anything put here by God or Man, it is up to us as individuals how we use it… just as it was up to Adam and Eve to find out for themselves what the forbidden fruit tasted like. It is up to God to decide if what we do is good or not, so why not take the load off of yourself and stop doing it for him.

now… I’m going to go home and play… Spore.

I don’t see why you care enough to go this far. You don’t need to go out and force your opinions on people by censoring out any game or media that has views different than yours. I understand your motive but I see no way to support it.

Besides, you seem to say that the bible and evolution can’t go together. Plenty of people believe they do. Evolution is a scientific idea that hasn’t been disproved except by blind faith which by the way isn’t evidence you can use to change the opinions of everyone, or anyone whose opinion differs.

  61. Alfon 10 Sep 2008 at 8:56 am 61

Also what they are doing is in no way wrong. If you wish to edit out their ideas. Then I want to see you have your ideas and beliefs unconstitutionally riped away from you, giving you no right to belief in Jesus. If you lived like this you would realize that there is a reason that we have freedoms of speech and opinion.

Thank you for taking the time to read my opinion,

What you’re basically saying is, Spore explains and proves the concept of evolution, as opposed to the church’s twisted, straw-man version of it, and you’d rather the truth be hidden.

    You are evil.

  63. AKon 10 Sep 2008 at 12:07 pm 63

Hey, face it, the devil won!

do you know what the devil is made of?
    knowledge. change. misunderstanding.

There is more than one religion in the world, and I’m sure someone of different faith would argue as much as you would- but who’s right? maybe that other person, and maybe that means all your hard work is getting you no where but insectsville in the next life. Maybe your right, good job, you won the gamble (gambling is a sin right?). Personally I wouldn’t want to spend a moment in heaven if it’s overrun by fanatics. Point is, believe what you want- there’s really no point in trying to screw up everyone else’s beliefs along the way. Maybe they are going to hell- so? worried about it overfilling causing the dead to walk the earth?

  64. Mohamedon 10 Sep 2008 at 2:31 am 64

It doesn’t take a village to raise a child, it takes two people: a mother and a father. Why don’t you be a father and raise your child instead of putting them in front of a television screen.

  65. Mohamedon 10 Sep 2008 at 2:32 am 65

The Best part, the irony of all this — take a look at your google ads. You’re giving EA free advertising.

This game is evil but use of my site is thanks in part to Electronic Art’s advertising on this blog.

    Fail!

  66. kidnex1on 10 Sep 2008 at 2:59 am 66

You realize that there are all kinds of belief systems in the world. Not everyone has to believe what you believe. I was raised not believing in god, does that mean I’m going to hell?

  67. Alex Sterlingon 10 Sep 2008 at 4:26 am 67

This game would have so many features it’d blow your mind if 8,500 people worked on it. Also one of the main aspects of the bible is that community enriches the individuals within it. I hardly think that if Jesus were here today he would rather the child be raised in isolation with only his parents in the middle of a jungle. I think he’d rather have them in a village. What do you think church is for?

  68. brandonon 10 Sep 2008 at 4:39 am 68

hahahaha, who ever wroye this article is funny. It actually takes only one smart person to raise a child well. A village is full of idiots

  69. leeladon 10 Sep 2008 at 6:34 am 69

    Although obv troll is obv.

I’m prettly sure it was maxis who developed the main core of spore and while held by the bollocks by EA are not EA..

EA distrubuted spore, the didn’t develop it.

Perhaps going after Maxis would be better.

Or even realising that God doesn’t exist would be even better.

  70. Jayon 10 Sep 2008 at 9:18 am 70

You’re looking at this entirely the wrong way. Spore *is* about creationism, and that’s the theory you subscribe to, isn’t it? In Spore, life is created and guided by a ‘supreme being’; the player. If it was about evolution, there wouldn’t be any player interaction. It’d just play out on it’s own while you look on!

You should be praising it for it’s educational values in teaching your kids about god and His works!

  71. mrnon 10 Sep 2008 at 10:07 am 71

Without loonies like you and your bible-thumping kin, the world just wouldn’t be as interesting. So, thanks for your craziness. Keep it up. It’s great theater.

  73. Evolveon 10 Sep 2008 at 10:43 am 73

Of course I had to get the game and find out what it’s all about, and I’m actually disappointed that it doesn’t let us experience true evolution. Everything is controlled so it’s just a design playground with unlockables.

Everything evolves, including religion. Fortunately. And a few hundred years from now noone will remember this game, but they will still have their gods.

  74. Mr. Xon 10 Sep 2008 at 1:39 pm 74

I ask you, how sure are you that at ALL of EA’s employees are NOT Christian/Catholic? Proof… Show it.

& In the subject of Spore teaching evolution, maybe those that don’t agree with your OPINION should complain about Christian games & there teachings?

not all christians including me think that this is a bad game. Will wright actually said that many of his staff are religious and their ideas were added to the game as much as anyone else. spore has allot of creation concepts at its core.

  79. Billyon 10 Sep 2008 at 11:03 pm 79

Ok, so you’re saying that someone should stand up to refuse working on the game? That’s being SELFISH! The other 8499 workers won’t be working, won’t get paid, and all because of one selfish dickhole.

  80. Bobon 11 Sep 2008 at 3:33 am 80

Here’s a thought: According to the bible (what I remember anyway), we’re created in Gods image no? And he gave us free will right? To do whatever we wanted?

That would mean that, indirectly, God created this game.

  81. Melon 11 Sep 2008 at 10:16 am 81

  83. AnotherChristianon 11 Sep 2008 at 1:51 pm 83

Well, I’d like to point out to you that you don’t need to aim your weapons at EA. EA published this game, Maxis developed it. The people that work at EA didn’t do anything to make this game at all, they only funded Maxis’ employee’s to make it. There are more things I’d like to discuss with you, but this isn’t the place, and I can’t find your email anywhere.

  84. Meon 11 Sep 2008 at 3:58 pm 84

An entire village to raise 1 child? WUT?

If i remember rightly 2 people raised me. My mother and my farther. Both of which are christians. I was a christian. Then I saw the light.

If god is real then he gave us the power to make technology. We have learnt how and now this game has been produced. God let these people create the game, he is letting us explore other methods of what could of ‘created’ us. Just like he is letting you try and ruin peoples lives and make out that we are bad because we do not believe in what you believe in.

If we did this to you, you would scream and shout and demand human rights and all that shit. But no, because its not done towards someones religion you think you can get away with it.

Maybe we should just make our own religon and then when you have a go at us we can go scream about human rights.

Seirously just leave EA games alone. They’ve done nothing but do what ‘God’ allowed them to doin the first place! And becuase of this blog you won’t b e going to heaven, what you are doing is hrorible. You’re sinning and you won’t be going anywhere near the heaven you hope to.

  91. Oh for fuckson 12 Sep 2008 at 5:09 pm 91

    It makes you sick?

    YOU make us sick!

Religion is fine, it’s good for you and all, but you’re taking it a bit too far…
Try to be less narrow minded and at least accept other people’s ideals.
Religion only becomes a problem when you start disrespecting other people’s beliefs. If you want to convert people, ‘save’ them… do it in a more honorable way, with your own merits, not by flaming a specially good game and their respective ideas.

The way you are doing it, you’re only pushing people away from God, not saving them. Can’t you tell how many people are pissed at you already?
You can’t save someone who doesn’t want to be saved. And if you make people think religiosity is stupid by showing off this hate circus… you’re just condemning them, the same way.

Do you want people to hate Christians this badly?
And for the love of God, it’s just a game!!

Corrupted. Like teaching a child that science and common sense is wrong while your imaginary friend is right?

I would sooner die than believe in a lie as big as religion.

  96. Sjaakon 14 Sep 2008 at 12:20 pm 96

I find it a horrible crime that the blog admin doesn’t allow his/her children free will and free choice. Raising your children to be Christian or any other religion, and in effect building a large wall around them to obscure the world in all it’s different facets is called: indoctrination. This is what is preventing the world to go forwards, instead growth and development there is stagnation and conservatism.

“If you have a faith, it is statistically overwhelmingly likely that it is the same faith as your parents and grandparents had. No doubt soaring cathedrals, stirring music, moving stories and parables, help a bit. But by far the most important variable determining your religion is the accident of birth. The convictions that you so passionately believe would have been a completely different, and largely contradictory, set of convictions, if only you had happened to be born in a different place. Epidemiology, not evidence.” – Richard Dawkins.

  97. Whateveron 15 Sep 2008 at 1:54 am 97

You’re right, lets make more Christian games.

We’ll start with “The Crusades.” It’ll be great! It will teach children the valuable lesson that is is alright to kill thousands of people, so long as you are doing it for your god. C’mon kids, lets get closer to Jesus, one broken body, destroyed family, desecrated home and ruined city at a time!

Or we could do “The Inquisition”! It will teach those poor, mislead people that it is completely fine to hunt down, prosecute, torture and kill people so long as you think they might have a different view on the universe than you. No proof is needed as long as it’s for Jesus! And this game will come with a free button that says “I’m not a heretic! Are you?”

    You poor, ignorant, mislead fool.

  98. Tonyon 16 Sep 2008 at 8:13 pm 98

Now I deem myself as a Christian, and one thing that I think you’ve forgotten is that God lets people believe in what they want to believe. You fail to recognize that this game is not meant to teach kids that god’s fake and all there is is evolution….no, you’re wrong. The creation ways of god can be viewed in so many different ways. “Let there be light,” is a simple example.

From the general, straight foreward thinking, god turned on a light switch in the universe….from a deeper perspective, it could mean that god caused the big bang (Explosions, no matter the size, tend to produce light.)

The 7 day thing is quite debatable as well, since who are we to say that a day to God, an allmighty immortal being, is just the same length of time it takes the earth to revolve around it’s axis once? Billions of years could be used to shape what he desired….in spore you do the same thing. Who says evolution was not one of god’s designs? It’s a way in which beings adapt, and hasn’t god allowed us to adapt?

It’s more like Spore puts us in the shoes of god….which is blasphemy in it’s own right…but doesn’t god allow us to create our own?

Poor guy, I really wish you would open up your mind….

  99. Devoted Christianon 17 Sep 2008 at 4:53 am 99

Hey im a christian and im plying spore.. so does that make me evil

    NO!

if you ppl mtruly believe this game can corrupt the minds of hristians and other religions then you are a very sad person you should be ashamed at yourself. do you really think the power of God is so weak that a mere video game will make you lose your belief. God is all powerful and almighty in him we trust. and then you go around saying such a simply thing can destroy the love for God.

this is a sad sad day indeed. If your belief is so weak then i think you should go and pray to God, go to church more and pray more. Dont try and insult us who are strong in our beliefs dont put your insecurities upon us. Spore is just a game made for fun if we took everything seriously in movies/games then we would have nuclear wars non-stop til we all die cause presidents are always think the other is against them and we would try to jump from buildings and expect not to die. Seriously get your belief straight and strong before you comment on ours

Besides the fact that you need to educate yourself… you know, not believe in archaic myths of an omnipotent being, this is a /video game/. I mean, really? You automatically assume since things that are out of their control can show up in the game, that the people at EA are “evil”? This site is ridiculous. If you’re joking, funny. If you’re not, I hope this site gets hacked, and I only wish I could be the one to do it.
